The Pleasure and Politics of Food: A Conversation with Mark Bittman

Community Food Centres Canada is a national non-profit that builds and supports vibrant food- focused places in low-income communities across Canada to bring people together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food for all. They asked Eatable to collaborate on a public education event featuring Mark Bittman, renowned former New York Times food columnist, advocate and author of How to Cook Everything, in conversation with the Globe and Mail’s National Food Reporter Ann Hui. The discussion explored Mark’s career and activism and how the choices we make about food impact culture, climate and policy.  The event was followed by a reception with cocktails and small plates by Victor Dries Catering, from chefs Chris Brown and Grant Van Gameren. Eatable was responsible for helping to curate the food portion of the event and to publicizing it with Eatable subscribers and social media followers.
